August 2009 Meeting

Eleven US-based Alumni was present at the August 15, 2009 Meeting with Lad Mojica held at the residence of Chito Ramos at Bullock Drive, San Diego, California.

Pledges and payments for the upcoming reunion were collected and several gave sponsorship for the Ruby Celebration.

We are pushing for the 40 pages sponsorship (full page at $100/half page at $60) to be able to produce a souvenir program for our 40th year (Ruby Celebration).

Aside for the US$100 per alumna fee for the said event if you feel like giving more or sharing more of your graces, you are welcome to do so.

All collections in the US area must be coursed to Ricardo “Chito” Ramos at 6745 Bullock Drive, San Diego, CA 92114.

Thank you very much for your generosity and see you all in our next monthly meeting on September 12, 2009 at the OCNHS Quadrangle at 4pm.

Two Weeks Notice

It was a short vacation but it was 100% activity filled with family and friends. For two weeks, two US-based alumni visited the Philippines with their respective spouses.

Ricardo “Chito” Ramos and Isidro “Sid” Mendoza, Jr., enjoyed their vacation by attending to family affairs, weddings, birthdays, Batch 70 gatherings/meetings, and island hopping.

Both couples also spent a few days at the famous Panglao Nature Island Resort in Panglao, Bohol. Au and Edith also had the time of their lives during the short vacation.

Even though their time in the Philippines was limited, all four of them still savored the Filipino hospitality.

As they went back to San Diego, Chito and Sid are now counting the days for the February 2010 Batch 70 reunion and said “we’ll have more time on our next trip to enjoy everything”.

Nora invades RP

One of the memories that will make 2009 a year to remember is the trip of Leonor “Nora” Osana-Capiral to the Philippines. However short it was, 18 days, each moment lasted longer than it should.

Nora visited Olongapo-based Batch 70 classmates and had a day of meeting old friends, catching up and most of all, fun.

Along with seeing her classmates she was also happy to meet with another balikbayan, Soledad “Soly” De Castro-Paterson.

Plus, she even enjoyed eating the Filipino delicacies that cannot be found (or might not taste good enough) in San Diego.
