April 2005 Meetings

The Philippine Committee Chairpersons (Jean Mackay-Mojica and Ebeth Garcia-Cabangis) had a meeting in Los Angeles at Connie Constantino-Aguilar's residence last April 9,2005 and we received US$300 from Connie, Rosie and Amie.

On the 13th, which was a Wednesday, we had a meeting at Chito's place and we received US$1,400 out of the attendees (Delia Jamir, Leonor Capiral, David Adamos, Richard Tejidor, Rose Ritualo, Danny Gregorio, Rofely Alonzo, Alfredo de Leon, Ray Lipumano, Sid Mendoza, Nelda Rebucas).

On the 15h, a Friday, we were able to meet Mrs. Elvira Fuertes and had a good day with her along with Lad and Ebeth. In the evening we went to Soly de Castro's house were we met Benedict Vitug and his wife Nora. We had dinner there and we had our dessert at Tessie D. Laron's residence. From the Bay Area, we were able to receive US$430. Thank you for your accomodation in a short notice.

Then on Saturday which is the 16th, we met Samuel Cajudo at Starbucks at American Canyon and pledged to send Chito his share forour project.

Lunch time was spent at the residence of Miss Emma Falcon, our adviser in 1st year. Nice to see people after all these years.

The renovation of our school project will cost about PhP600,000-700,000. We shall try to raise these funds through different activities here in the Philippines to have enough money for this endeavor.

For those who wished to donate, feel free to contact Chito Ramos and for cash/check, kindly address them also to Chito.

Maraming salamat po!

Armory/Class Building

We have asked several contractors to give us good estimates for the proposed roof renovation of the Armory/Class Building at the back of the former Lim Yek Building.

As it turned out the building itself needs a major renovation. Kahit na walang kisame, maayos na dingding, flooring at butas-butas na bubong ginagamit pa rin ng mga estudyanted as classrooms. Wala naman daw ulan kaya okay lang.

As per quotation for the whole face lift of the building, we need roughly PhP400,00 to PhP500,000. This is a big amount of money and maybe we could all help and chip-in to make this project come about.

Construction will start right after the end of the School Year 2004-2005. All construction materials will be ordered from our classmate who owns a hardware store at Cabalan. Kalapati Hardware and Merchandising Store that is owned by Generoso Castro.
